Running = Stress Reliever?

Since I’ve been home for the summer, I am fortunate enough to have a neighborhood park where I can run, jog, or walk. And it’s been so hot, lately, that I’ve only walked instead of ran. BUTTTTT today, out of all days, I decided to run. I don’t know what went through my mind thinking it was okay to run in 90 degree weather (humidity was 68% so it actually felt like 99 degrees). I vowed to never do that again, I literally felt like I was dying. I believe the scenery of the park was the only thing that has kept me alive.

Sneak peak of the park:

After reaching my house, I sat down for about half hour and then laid in my bed for another half hour before I jumped in a cold shower. And now that I have cooled down, the endorphins kicked in and the end result of a run made me feel good. HOWEVER, reminiscing on my run almost makes the run not worth it–just being honest here.

From now on, in this summer heat, I am going for runs in the early morning (7 am) instead of early afternoon (10 am-ish).
